New York City. July 25, 2013 -

For the second year in a row, the Rock the House Dance Convention is a green light – and after months of buildup and anticipation, today marks the beginning of official registration. But for chief founder and director Jeff Lapes, along with new creative directors Monique C. Borromeo and Will B. Wingfield (aka The Meta’fizikal), the convention marks a one-of-a-kind opportunity to bring the experience of dance to a new generation.

"Our amazing faculty has traveled the globe working with world-renowned and timeless recording artists on the biggest stage,” says Wingfield. “They have graced screens big and small and even conquered Broadway.

“And now they’re ready to set the foundation for a positive mindset and magnetic energy to guide young dancers."

With today’s announcement of open registration, Rock the House is excited to be taking it to the next level with bigger venues, top-tier talent, additional dates, and of course, many surprises along the way. The dance convention kicks into high gear on December 27th with all-day classes and the personalized instruction that comes from capped class sizes. There is also an array of nighttime events, including an exclusive film screening, a cypher night with contests and cash prizes, and a special guest speaker. Plus, there will be events for kids and parents alike, making the convention an ideal end-of-the-year destination.

For Lapes, the launch of this annual event is the next big step in bringing dance to today's youth. “Here at Rock the House,” says Lapes, “our goal is to create an atmosphere free of the pressures and demands of an often-jaded industry, and instead give young dancers the chance to do something new and different, to learn, and most of all, to better experience dance in its purest form of creative expression.”

In addition to Lapes, Borromeo and Wingfield, "Rock the House’s" faculty list includes some of the top names in dance today: Chaz Buzan, Comfort Fedoke, Talia Favia, Chelsie Hightower, Sasha Mallory, Zakk Manzella, Taja Riley, Noel Bajandas and Dha’Sean “Skillz” Serrano.

All told, the Rock the House family has worked with some of the biggest names in music, dance and entertainment in the world, including: Beyonce, Madonna, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Celine Dion, Missy Elliot, Ne-Yo, “So You Think You Can Dance”, “Dancing With the Stars”, “America’s Best Dance Crew”, “In the Heights” Broadway Cast, Black Eyed Peas, David Guetta, J-Lo, Flash Mob of America, Cirque du Soleil, Debbie Allen, The League of Extraordinary Dancers and many more.

Rock the House started as a small, local, dance-intensive group that brought together A-list talent from around the country to work with and train young dancers over a four-day period. The event will take place at the Park Ridge Marriott in Park Ridge, New Jersey, but to take advantage of special offers, students must register online before August 31.
